In this pivotal role, you will work closely with directors and heads of division, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources to maximize academic outcomes. You will play a critical part in delivering business intelligence, actionable insights, and innovative financial solutions to drive impactful decisions. Key responsibilities include delivering financial management support on strategic areas such as service performance and central funding, producing clear and engaging management reports, and leading budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes. Additionally, you will partner with budget holders to enhance financial performance, provide tailored support, and streamline financial processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience in an academic or not-for-profit setting and those who have worked in grant-funded environments. A strong understanding of restricted funds, their management, and reporting requirements is highly desirable, as this knowledge will be central to supporting the institution’s research activities. The successful candidate will be a qualified finance professional (CCAB or equivalent) with demonstrable success in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) decision support within complex organisations. Advanced Excel skills and financial modelling experience are essential, as are exceptional communication skills to translate financial concepts for non-finance audiences. This role is being offered on a permanent basis with a salary up to c£58,000 (in line with experience).
