Technical Building Services Manager - Milton Keynes £60,000 Job Description Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Building Services Manager to lead our local Facilities Management (FM) team. In this role, you will ensure a safe, efficient, and high-performing workplace for our client by delivering outstanding service standards and operational excellence. You will oversee the management of M&E services, technical projects, and Total Facilities Management (TFM) services , fostering strong client relationships and ensuring seamless service delivery. Key Responsibilities: Deliver 5-Star Facilities Management: Lead the local engineering and FM team to ensure that all building services, planned and reactive maintenance, and complex technical projects are completed effectively. Enhance Energy Efficiency&Sustainability: Develop and implement strategies to improve energy performance and sustainability initiatives. Lifecycle Management: Track and manage the lifecycle of physical equipment and building systems. Health&Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with Health&Safety regulations, maintaining relevant procedures and accurate records. Service Standards&Performance: Establish and maintain service standards, ensuring SLAs and KPIs are met. Provide quality monthly reports to the client. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, customers, and key stakeholders, ensuring professional and effective communication. Team Leadership&Development: Develop and mentor the FM team, fostering accountability and excellent customer service. Cost Efficiency&Process Improvement: Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high service levels. Streamline administrative tasks to enhance efficiency. Customer Feedback&Experience: Continuously assess customer satisfaction, refining processes to enhance the overall experience. Implement action plans for improvement where necessary. Budget Management: Oversee budgets, ensuring accurate financial reporting and cost efficiency while delivering value for money. Documentation&Compliance: Ensure all site documentation is up to date and readily accessible. Futureproofing&Strategic Planning: Develop forward-thinking strategies to ensure seamless service delivery and long-term operational success. Ad Hoc Responsibilities: Undertake additional duties as required by the Account Manager, Director, or Client to support business needs. Health&Safety Best Practices: Take responsibility for your own health and safety, as well as that of others, ensuring compliance with all procedures. Skills&Experience Required: Proven experience managing hard and soft services in the Building Services sector, with a strong focus on hard services . Demonstrated leadership ability, managing both an internal engineering team and specialist technical subcontractors . Strong technical/M&E knowledge , covering building maintenance, statutory compliance, and Health&Safety regulations. Ability to interpret technical specifications and quotations , challenging where necessary. Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating complex technical data into clear, concise information for clients and teams. Experience in leading and delivering complex technical projects . Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost control . Commitment to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement . Strong problem-solving skills, willing to challenge assumptions and seek innovative solutions . Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant digital tools. Flexible approach to work, adapting to the evolving needs of the business.
