Job Title: Software Technical Specialist Salary: Circa £65,000 (21% Bonus) Location: Stevenage (Relocation package may be available) Dynamic Working: 5 days per week on-site due to workload classification Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship required The Opportunity This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Software Technical Specialist to play a pivotal role in supporting the Test Equipment (TE) and Centre of Excellence (CofEx) Software teams in delivering world-class complex missile systems and sub-component test solutions. As a Software Technical Specialist , you will: Take on an overarching role supporting and assisting Software project work, addressing complex and challenging technical issues. Collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders to enable the technical delivery and integration of test software and hardware capabilities from early concept stages to production. Ensure the successful development and maintenance of software projects, meeting stringent departmental and customer requirements. Advocate and drive meaningful change in software development practices, influencing the test software and wider software communities. Operate in an office/lab environment, engaging with software, test equipment, and project components/systems. What We’re Looking for from You Extensive experience in software engineering, particularly in supporting or developing test solutions for Development and Manufacturing purposes. Proven expertise in software development with C, C++, Ada . Strong track record of solving complex software and hardware integration problems. In-depth knowledge of Change, Configuration, and Release Management practices. Hands-on experience with software installations, measurement equipment, and software drivers.
