We are now recruiting for a Senior Scientific Director to join one of our growing business units. The role You will be a source of scientific, editorial and therapy area expertise within Sciterion, providing strategic direction and management across the business units client accounts. You will lead and coach the wider scientific team to ensure excellence in the delivery of client projects across a wide range of therapy areas. Key responsibilities Provide strategic leadership to ensure excellent client relationships Provide effective line management to ensure training and development opportunities across the team Ensure optimal allocation of scientific services resource and plan mid to long term account alignment and succession planning Work in partnership with client services team and business SLT to ensure all account and business objectives are met Build relationships, and liaise effectively, with the Havas Health&You network, clients and external experts Proactively provide creative ideas and strategic insights to assist and challenge the client's thinking and planning Intimately understand client and competitor products, therapy areas, portfolio and commercial strategy in the context of the current and future market Keep up-to-date with industry codes of practice/legislation and external issues or events that may affect existing or potential accounts, or the business as a whole Identify and develop opportunities for organic growth, new business and new ideas for Medical Education products Lead proposal development and present at pitches to secure new business opportunities Monitor project costs against agreed budgets and discuss any changes to specification with the wider project team and the client at the earliest opportunity Communicate clearly to team members at all times and budget guidelines and proactively monitor progress against milestones Establish, and be responsible for maintaining a high quality of medical writing across account teams Develop, monitor and promote processes for excellent briefing and reviewing Act as scientific and strategic counsel to ensure internal and external comments are addressed intelligently and question any that are inappropriate, inaccurate or unclear The person Degree educated in science or medicine with a strong scientific background, a PhD or Masters would be an advantage Proven experience working in a range of therapy areas within a medical communications environment In-depth understanding of UK and European medical regulatory environment Understanding of the drug development and commercialisation process You will have a strategic mindset – able to partner with our client services teams to grow and strengthen our client relationships
