This role offers a unique opportunity to work on greenfield and brownfield site developments, navigating the complexities of acquisition, planning, and construction in an evolving infrastructure landscape. The Role As Senior Real Estate Counsel, you will focus on real estate development, including acquisitions, development, leasing, and energy-related initiatives. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will collaborate with stakeholders to provide commercially focused guidance on complex legal matters. Key Responsibilities Site Development: Lead legal oversight of greenfield and brownfield developments, ensuring seamless navigation through planning permissions, environmental considerations, and construction tenders. Transaction Management: Oversee the legal aspects of property acquisitions and dispositions, from due diligence to complex contract negotiations. Leasing: Negotiate and draft lease agreements while ensuring adherence to planning, environmental, and construction regulations. Energy Integration: Support the business’s energy transition objectives by advising on the procurement and provision of innovative energy solutions as part of its product offerings. Risk&Governance: Anticipate and mitigate legal risks across real estate transactions and development activities, maintaining a strong focus on compliance and governance. Key Qualifications and Skills: 7 years PQE, ideally trained at a top-tier law firm with in-house experience. Proven expertise in greenfield and brownfield site development, construction, and leasing. Strong understanding of real estate transactions, planning regulations, and infrastructure projects. Clear and concise communication skills with the ability to distil complex issues into actionable advice. Adaptability to navigate ambiguity and an evolving industry landscape.
