About the Company - A leading micro-launch company is seeking an RF System Design Engineer to join its Avionics Team, Scotland. This role involves the development, integration, and testing of airborne and ground-based radio systems for their Prime launch vehicle. Candidates with a strong RF engineering background and practical experience in aerospace or related sectors are highly encouraged to apply. About the Role - Perform RF communication system analysis, including high-level development, integration, and testing. Conduct link budget and RF lineup analysis and handle hardware selection. Act as the primary technical liaison for hardware procurement from external suppliers, managing all technical communications. Create and execute test plans, leading unit and system-level electrical and environmental test campaigns. Diagnose faults and resolve issues during system integration and environmental testing. Initiate and contribute to design reviews to address potential risks. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software, mechanical, and thermal engineers. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical, Electronics, or Telecommunications Engineering with a specialization in RF/Microwave Engineering. At least 4 years of experience in RF circuit/system design, development, integration, and testing. Hands-on experience with fault diagnosis and problem-solving during integration and testing. Strong foundation in RF physics, impedance matching, filters, and isolation techniques. Proficiency in using test equipment such as spectrum analysers, network analysers, power sensors, and oscilloscopes. Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams. Preferred Skills Experience in antenna design and testing, EMI/EMC testing, and space qualification. Proficiency in EM simulation tools such as CST and HFSS.
