This is a varied role with a high level of autonomy/responsibility. The Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of new products, primarily focusing on mechanical and sheet metal components. This role requires close collaboration with customers to establish their requirements and manage individual projects from start to finish. The successful candidate will handle all mechanical aspects of the design process, including static load, dynamic load, and vibration considerations. Additionally, they must be confident working from customer specifications and be capable of creating designs from scratch using Creo&Windchill software or Autodesk Inventor&Vault. Developing effective working relationships with customers, including well-known names in the IT and social media sectors, is a crucial part of this role. The Senior Design Engineer will utilize design tools such as DFMEA and Six Sigma tolerance analysis to ensure high-quality outcomes. Participation in and leading design reviews, as well as regularly communicating with customers to understand their needs and update them on project progress, are also key responsibilities.
