Job Title: Senior HSE Engineer Location: Basingstoke (12 home working days' per month) Employment Type: Inside IR35 Proposed Start Date: ASAP Duration: 12 months minimum Job Overview We are pleased to present an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Senior Engineer, HSE (Offshore) to join our esteemed client's team. This pivotal role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of offshore operations and a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary HSE coordinator for offshore decommissioning and installation projects, ensuring adherence to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. Review decommissioning and installation design documentation to identify and mitigate HSE risks. Prepare and submit detailed HSE reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory frameworks. Monitor compliance with all permit commitments and conditions, taking proactive measures to address any non-compliance issues. Facilitate stakeholder engagement and maintain communication with relevant parties to promote a culture of safety. Act as the primary interface with contractors, providing guidance on HSE matters throughout project execution. Support safety case planning efforts on behalf of the duty holder, ensuring that all safety protocols are thoroughly developed and aligned with project requirements. Qualifications and Experience Required Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety Discipline, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Proven experience in offshore demolition and construction projects, with specific expertise in HSE compliance. Familiarity with PLANC (Project Life Assurance and Network Control) methodologies. Experience with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) processes in offshore execution projects. Expert knowledge of site audits, safety case development, and contractor management. Experience in carbon capture and storage (CCS) initiatives and environmental appraisal processes. Understanding of decommissioning programs and Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations. Certification in BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) is essential. Skills and Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency in HSE reporting and compliance tracking. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
