Senior Catastrophe Risk Analyst (R&D) opportunity working with a leading specialist reinsurance group. Reporting into the Group Head of Exposure Management, you will play a crucial role in assessing and quantifying natural and non-natural catastrophe risks across a broad range of specialty classes. Key Responsibilities: Support the Catastrophe Risk Manager in project work across our specialty classes of business in the context of natural and non-natural catastrophe. Provide real-time reporting and analysis of natural and non-natural disasters. Enhance current practices of data visualisation and management information. Assist the Catastrophe Risk Manager in developing a continuous appraisal of model validation and model calibration cycles. Review, develop and implement emerging modelling practices. Lead scenario development exercises. Lead ad hoc project work, model validation and process design. Mentor and provide guidance to junior analysts. Present findings and recommendations to senior management and external stakeholders. Knowledge and Skills: Strong proficiency in using catastrophe modelling software, such as RMS or AIR, and statistical analysis tools (such as R or Python). Experience in developing and implementing emerging modelling practices, for catastrophe risk assessment.
