Teaching Assistant - Immediate Start Location : West Sussex Contract : Full-time, Permanent Start Date : Immediate or as soon as possible We are seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic team at a specialist school in West Sussex. This school provides exceptional education for students aged 11-19 diagnosed with autism spectrum conditions. About the Role: As a Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in supporting students academic growth. Working alongside teachers and other staff, you will help to create a learning environment that enables students to thrive academically and personally. Key Responsibilities: Supporting students, ensuring their understanding and engagement. Assisting teachers in delivering differentiated lesson plans and learning resources. Providing one-on-one and small group interventions to reinforce key mathematical concepts. Tailoring support for students with autism spectrum conditions , helping them overcome learning challenges. Monitoring student progress and reporting on development to help shape ongoing support strategies. Fostering a positive, inclusive environment where all students feel supported in their educational journey. Candidate Requirements: Strong proficiency in Maths and English (up to GCSE level). Experience working with students with special educational needs , especially those on the autism spectrum (desirable but not essential). A genuine passion for helping students succeed, with patience, empathy , and adaptability. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Flexibility to work effectively in a vibrant school environment.
