Job Title: Senior Sustainability Investment Risk Analyst Location: London Job Type: Full-time About the Client: Barclay Simpson is partnering with an Asset Management client, a global investment management firm, to recruit a Senior Sustainability Investment Risk Analyst. This role presents an exciting opportunity to shape sustainability practices across investment portfolios and engage with senior stakeholders in the business. The Role: The Investment Risk Team, operating within the second line of defence, reports to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and supports investment teams as a trusted advisor. The Senior Sustainability Investment Risk Analyst will be the subject matter expert for sustainability oversight across public and private mandates. Key responsibilities include developing tools for sustainability risk, upskilling the team on ESG knowledge, and ensuring compliance with evolving sustainability regulations. Key Responsibilities: Lead the sustainability oversight framework to ensure alignment with funds' objectives and strategies. Integrate sustainability oversight across all asset classes, including public and private markets. Perform Non-Financial Objective (NFO) oversight and conduct sustainability risk scenario/stress testing. Develop tools and processes for sustainability oversight and upskill the team on evolving regulations (e.g., SFDR, SDR). Design and deliver sustainability analysis for fund managers and internal committees. Present sustainability risk analysis, highlighting areas of concern to senior stakeholders. Collaborate with performance teams to link sustainability analysis with fund performance. Lead cross-departmental initiatives and mentor junior team members. Skills, Knowledge&Experience: 5 years of experience in investment risk or a similar role within asset management or financial services. Strong knowledge of sustainability and ESG, with experience integrating these factors into investment risk frameworks. Experience in market risk or quantitative finance roles, with a solid understanding of portfolio management. A degree in finance, economics, or a related subject. CFA, sustainability certifications, or other qualifications are desirable. Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., R, Python, SQL) and data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI). Familiarity with sustainability data providers and platforms like Aladdin is a plus. Strong communication and quantitative skills, with the ability to present complex analysis clearly.
