Our high profile client is looking to recruit a Rigging Operations Manager to head up the team delivering rigging for a large portfolio of varied events. This role manages a small team of core rigging staff as well as contract staff as required by the events schedule to deliver all rigging requirements of their events. The role holder will ensure that stock is managed and maintained to ensure availability of required equipment and to ensure it is fit for purpose within health&safety guidelines. Key Responsibilities - Work with the Rigging Managers to plan and deliver a wide range of exhibitions and live events - Manage the warehouse stock/equipment levels and ensure all equipment is fit for purpose. - Plan and oversee all labour requirements both permanent and contract for events. - Plan and manage labour productivity levels. - Communicate directly with Crew Chiefs and staff to proactively identify any problems arising from delivery plans and acting a problem-solver, solutions decision maker. - Interpret detailed drawings for event planning and rigging purposes, communicate requirements to all staff. - Manage all rigging and stock budgets, and the efficient utilisation of owned and sub hired stock. - Manage company owned plant and vehicles, including sub hiring plant where required. - Ensure planned maintenance is carried out as required. - Ensure all equipment meets health&safety requirements. - Manage relationships with suppliers and service providers. - Manage and develop the core team. - Manage health&safety compliance on the part of crews. - Review current working practices and key processes to develop a programme of continuous improvement for rigging operations. Core Competencies Must have strong event or venue experience in an operational role Previous experience of managing operational teams for large scale events, both permanent and temporary labour. Experience of managing the performance and productivity of teams, supervision, coaching, training and development. Ability to read floor plans, CAD drawings. Experience of managing budgets and cost control. Experience of creating efficiencies and delivering best in class event services. Proficient in use of Microsoft tools. Experience of client facing services. Good written and verbal communication skills. Excellent planning and organising skills. Health and safety qualification.
