TH Recruit supports this civil engineering consultancy as they recruit for their Development Management team. The successful candidate will join the team as Project Manager, to contribute to major projects and Master Developer schemes. With a proactive and results-oriented approach, your comprehensive project management expertise will focus on delivering and managing new physical and social infrastructure, including large-scale mixed-use developments. The team specialises in coordinating essential infrastructure to create serviced land parcels for housebuilders and commercial operators, enabling them to concentrate on their core activities. This role ideal for someone skilled in managing complex projects. Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups, including client teams, designers, contractors, key stakeholders, and local communities, are essential. The development management team is driven to challenge conventional approaches, fostering value engineering while maintaining the quality and deliverability of each scheme. Key Project Responsibilities Autonomously manage individual projects, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and quality at all times. Oversee and coordinate all project aspects, including planning, technical, commercial, environmental, legal, and construction components, ensuring seamless integration between them. Assess site constraints and continuously evaluate opportunities and risks to optimise value through value engineering. Collaborate closely with Principal Designers, Principal Contractors, and Production Managers. Lead the appointment and management of both internal and external consultants. Ensure designs, reports, and applications are accurate, cohesive, and completed to the highest standards. Establish and maintain project programmes and budgets, ensuring alignment with goals. Demonstrate adaptability and a proactive approach to effectively address challenges with purpose and resolve. Consistently challenge existing practices to enhance overall business performance. Conduct meetings with clients, stakeholders, and local communities to provide updates on project progress. Identify and mitigate risks promptly to prevent delays and safeguard the company's reputation. Stay informed on current planning, technical, and environmental developments. Key Personal and Professional Qualities While candidates will be evaluated based on individual merit and experience, the following attributes are highly desirable: A degree qualification (or equivalent experience) in Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline such as Technical, Project Management, Engineering, or Development. Chartered membership of professional bodies such as the Royal Town Planning Institute, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Institution of Civil Engineers, or Association of Project Managers (preferred but not essential). A solid understanding of the complexities and challenges associated with large-scale mixed-use strategic developments and infrastructure schemes. Exceptional skills in report writing, communication, and presentations. Strong interpersonal abilities, including the capacity to influence and effectively manage conflict. Flexibility to undertake site visits and travel within the UK as required. A full driving license and permanent access to a car are essential.
