A large public sector organisation is currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join the team for an initial 3 month contract. (extensions likely) The Project involves the implementation of a new back office and customer portal solution. Being a key part of the role, the ideal candidate would have experience having built and driven artifacts (ideally has created a cutover plan) Hybrid working will be a minimum of 2 days in the office per week in central London however there may be a requirement to attend other London based sites as required. The role will be on a day rate of £400 - £450 umbrella. Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a cutover plan managing both internal and external stakeholders in a matrix environment. The project involves successfully transitioning from the existing provider to the new provider system integrating a number of other deliverables such as a physical inspection site. You will ensure that business continuity is maintained after the current contract extension expires. The project is in-flight so you will need to pick up things quickly and work with stakeholders to build a cutover plan / operational readiness by November 2024. Responsibilities Plan and manage non-complex projects with a value of up to £40m using delivery methodology and governance structures to ensure delivery of intended business benefits. Responsible for providing a clear vision and team direction by leading a high-performing team through the effective management, development and empowerment of staff, while demonstrating the company behaviours Establish and maintain a good, professional and pro-active working relationship with the Contractor/Delivery partner's project management team where applicable to ensure delivery of intended LU business benefits. Within agreed authority levels, negotiate, procure and authorise all project contracts and variations and approve and authorise all payment to meet value for money criteria. Responsible for providing effective performance and development management responsibilities for any direct reports, with regards to appraisals and performance management, (such that poor performance is clearly identified and addressed and good performance is recognised and rewarded). Agree major project requirements with the Project Sponsor / Contract Manager to ensure that business objectives are met. Identify and manage any interfaces and dependencies between the assigned project and other ongoing network activities/projects. Prepare and manage a project implementation plan, including responsibility matrix, detailed programmes and cost and resource plans. Responsible for the day-to-day management of project governance, reporting and control structures, with issues, risks and decisions escalated through the agreed current Governance arrangements as appropriate. Responsible for compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and contributing to the Health and Safety culture, resolving arising issues or escalating as appropriate and ensuring safe delivery in line with the corporate safety vision.
