We are seeking a skilled HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) Engineer to join our team, focusing on a critical carbon capture and storage project. This role is essential in ensuring that our operations meet the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance, contributing to our commitment to achieving net zero emissions. Key Responsibilities: As an HSE Engineer, your main tasks will include: HSE Policy Implementation: Ensure the effective implementation of our company’s HSE policies and procedures on site. Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards, and develop and implement appropriate control measures. HSE Training: Design and deliver comprehensive HSE training for project teams and contractors to ensure compliance with safety standards. Incident Reporting: Oversee the timely reporting and investigation of all HSE incidents, identifying root causes to prevent recurrence. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all project operations adhere strictly to applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards. Emergency Response: Assist in the development and execution of emergency response plans and procedures. HSE Performance Monitoring: Monitor HSE performance metrics; compile reports detailing findings and recommendations. Contractor Management: Monitor and support contractors’ HSE performance, offering guidance to ensure compliance and improvement. HSE Audits: Conduct systematic HSE audits to assess compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. HSE Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of HSE documentation, including risk assessments, incident reports, and training logs. HSE Communication: Effectively communicate HSE information and updates to project teams and contractors. HSE Meetings: Facilitate regular HSE meetings, fostering discussion around HSE issues and improvement initiatives. HSE Culture Promotion: Advocate for a positive health, safety, and environmental culture within the project team and among contractors. HSE Improvement Initiatives: Collaborate in the identification and implementation of HSE improvement initiatives. Other Duties: Carry out additional tasks as directed by the Project HSE Manager. Qualifications and Experience: Ideal candidates should possess experience in: Subcontractor Management International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) and International Association of Oil&Gas Producers (IOGP) standards and practices Micro-tunnelling operations Offshore Rigid Pipelay operations Skills Required: Strong understanding of HSE regulations and management systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to conduct effective training and facilitate discussions. Proficient in risk assessment methodologies. Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
