As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering top-quality solutions in a challenging and specialised industry. The Role Working independently or with a small project team, the Project Engineer will be responsible for managing and supporting the engineering and technical aspects of assigned projects. This includes coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the project within the specified timeline and budget. The Project Engineer will also work to ensure that all engineering practices are compliant with regulatory standards and that quality control measures are in place. This position is based in Farnborough, Hampshire and belongs to the Technologies Group Europe&Asia, reporting to the Projects and Design Team Manager. It will be primarily office based. However, the role requires occasional travel to customer, end user or supplier premises both in the UK and abroad to supervise onsite system installations or coordinate and collaborate with suppliers. Key Responsibilities The Project Engineer responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Lead the design, development, and implementation of Nuclear and High Temperature CCTV systems for customer funded projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Collaborate with project managers to create project plans, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery in accordance with appropriate project principles Identify and evaluate risks and opportunities on all assigned projects and work with the project manager to develop risk mitigation strategies and implement corrective actions. Track changes in scope or design and report their impact on the project budget. Work with the Project Manager to develop an engineering management plan for assigned projects, including engineering schedules, budget plans, and staffing plans. Work closely with the project manager on assigned projects to ensure project performance in regard to cost, schedule, and quality. Coordinate project team members from different disciplines to ensure tasks are prioritised, issues are resolved on time, and the schedule is followed Provide technical support and expertise throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept to installation and commissioning Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, test plans, and project reports. Liaise with clients to understand project requirements, manage expectations, and ensure customer satisfaction Analyse, trace, and ensure adherence to system requirements on all assigned projects through the development and maintenance of the Requirements Traceability Matrix. Identify key stakeholders, Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and quality control, to ensure timely delivery of the engineering solution. Ensure system and subsystem design meet the system requirements through development of documentation, participation in design reviews, and constant communication with other functional disciplines on assigned projects. Follow all Mirion and engineering policies and procedures in performing day to day activities on assigned projects. Proven domain knowledge of products, systems, industry best practices, and applicable regulatory requirements on assigned projects. Demonstratable understanding of British Standards (BS) and their application in engineering projects to ensure compliance with regulations and quality requirements Ensure that all system designs meet security, safety, and regulatory requirements, including adherence to British Standards (BS) and other relevant regulations. The Person The key skills and qualities of the Project Engineer are: Essential 5-10 years of experience in Project Engineering or a related role. Experience in manufacturing is preferred Ability to review and work with stakeholders to prioritise workload of self and the assigned project team Excellent Microsoft Project skills Excellent communication, planning, time management and organisational skills Ability to influence and inspire change in positive and impactful way Desirable Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Experience in Nuclear and High temperature applications Project Management Professional (PMP) certification Offer Our employees make the difference.
