Procurement Manager&Senior Procurement Buyer Location: Swindon Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid (3 days on-site) Salary: £40-45K Join a well-established organisation in the retail industry. There are two vacancies: a Procurement Manager and Senior Procurement Buyer. Procurement Manager Location: Swindon Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid (3 days on-site) Salary: £45K Car Allowance Bonus Responsibilities: Rationalise and develop the supplier base, incorporating UK, European, and international sourcing strategies. Manage categories both tactically and strategically to optimise total value. Liaise with stakeholders to ensure procurement goals and targets are understood and achieved. Handle the end-to-end tender process (RFI/RFP), including stakeholder business requirements and relevant measurement criteria (KPIs and SLAs). Lead contract negotiations and manage relationships with suppliers during the contracting process. Support continuous improvement processes within the team and with stakeholders. Manage small to medium-sized projects and assist in negotiations for large and complex contracts. Participate in the regular contract review and renewal process. Required Skills&Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of procurement experience with similar responsibilities. Strong commercial acumen with proven negotiation skills and analytical abilities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to establish and influence strong working relationships at all levels. Experience in indirect category management for both Goods and Services. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Teams. Ability to work under pressure, prioritise effectively, and meet tight deadlines. Contract law and contract drafting experience preferred. CIPS qualifications are advantageous but not essential. Senior Procurement Buyer Location: Swindon Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid (3 days on-site) Salary: £40K Bonus Responsibilities: Rationalise and develop the supplier base, incorporating UK, European, and International sourcing strategies. Plan and organise categories both tactically and strategically to optimise total value. Manage the end-to-end tender process (RFI/RFP) and support regular contract review processes. Lead small projects and contract negotiations/renewals. Support tender and negotiations for medium and large contracts. Deliver cost reduction, risk mitigation, and control of annual category spend across WHSmith. Provide commercial, contractual, and negotiation support to stakeholders throughout the business. Manage contractual relationships with suppliers during the contracting process. Required Skills&Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a procurement role with similar responsibilities. Preferable experience in indirect category management. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to prioritise and operate under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Proficient in analysis with a high level of attention to detail. Skilled in commercial contract negotiation and contract law. Excellent influencing skills at all levels, capable of establishing strong working relationships both internally and externally. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
