The project: The role of a digital lead is to manage all aspects of digital services delivery on a client project or programme – from bid stage, through mobilisation, discovery assessment, development of the digital strategy, digital landscape and architecture, procurement, and implementation of digital solutions through testing and training, and into live operation. This role requires experience of Planview software, particularly implementation and data extraction, super-user experience or as a Planview consultant. The role is likely to involve working on a larger IWMS (integrated workspace management system project, scaling up from Planview to helping select and implement an IWMS solution. This role requires a mixture of experience of IT and digital solutions and services typically deployed on construction projects and programme, with effective project delivery, and problem solving. Individual ownership of the project and project outcomes, key stakeholder relationships, and both direct, and indirect, and line management. May take overall lead for a project/programme, or working for an associate director level digital consultant, depending on the scale or complexity of the project/programme.You’ll be responsible for:Managing all aspects of digital solution delivery and operation on client-facing projects to enable the project/programme team to work efficiently and effectively and get access to the data they need.Utilising an appropriate body of knowledge of project delivery methodology, standards, and templates.Understanding the project-specific requirements and how to apply standards and templates and innovation that may be required.Gathering requirements from project colleagues and business users and working with business analysts.Developing strategies, plans, and data and system architecture. Defining and managing budgets.Overseeing and project managing key elements of software and solution life cycle.Working with colleagues and peers as part of a development and support team. Testing solutions and delivering live use including documentation.Developing support strategies. Settling solutions on to stable-state operations whilst retaining some reach-back support.Liaising with partner IT functions; and other stakeholder IT functions; client and supply chain partners.Defining the digital team structure, recruit team members, line manage and develop the team to be high performing and support their well-being.Engaging seamlessly with other teams within the client project eco-system.Defining and set up governance models. Developing and keeping your business and technical knowledge and networks current and continuously improving.You’ll need to have:Experience as a digital lead or supporting a digital lead on one or more previous major construction projects or programmes.Knowledge of technology and how it can be applied to business problems.Strategic thinking and planning related to technology.Software selection and implementation, software licensing.Technology supplier management experience.System and enterprise architecture.IT project management capabilities and qualifications.Project budgeting and cost management.Technology and software knowledge in the real estate and construction project management sector.Information security, data protection and risk assessment knowledge.You’ll also have:The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and be organised and a self-starter.A willingness to share knowledge and support the development of others.The confidence to ask questions, make suggestions and challenge the status quo.Excellent written and oral communication skills.A commitment to working inclusively.An aptitude for problem-solving.Good interpersonal skills.
