Job Description
Hello applicants We're looking to expand our production team for 2025 at Pocket Creatives and are creating a role for a multiskilled videographer to be based out of our London Battersea offices. We have an exciting start in store for the new year, with some cracking new projects already in place, and lots more to come. Here's a little more information about us, the role, what we're looking for, and we're more than happy for you to reach out if you have any more questions. About us Pocket is now in its 7th year of operation, and we've grown hugely since we first started from a small shared workspace in Shoreditch all those years ago We've flexed somewhat during the pandemic, and again in the face of the ongoing cost of living crisis, and have come through this with a wonderful small team and exciting client list. We're a small and friendly team, and we across a number of different sectors: from beauty&cosmetics to food&drinks, products&tech. We create everything from brand and product films, to event highlights, how-to's, crowdfund videos and as well as high quality photography. About the role and who we're looking for We're looking for someone who has a flexible skillset - combining the ability to take a new project from scratch and run with it. It's a role that's perfect for someone who doesn't just want to produce, shoot, or who just wants to edit, still with plenty to learn and gain from working in a business of our shape and size. The right person will be able to make this role their own and help to craft it as we continue to grow. The person who we're looking for will have the following creative skills: A strong understanding of both video production and photography processes at a professional level Has the confidence to oversee a small filming team on larger projects Has the ability to self-direct and shoot as a single videographer Can edit to a comfortable level with Adobe software packages A greater weighting towards production abilities is our preference. It's important to stress that you don't have to be the 'finished article' - we offer plenty of support and training. We also know how important it is to match practical skills with the right work ethic and personality, and we place more weighting on our decisions on whether someone is the right fit for our own particular business. We're looking for someone who is: A natural hard worker and who loves what they do Flexible in their mindset - no two weeks are ever the same A great communicator, friendly and empathic Proactive, responsible and happy to take ownership We're not limited to working in London either, and frequently book in projects from across the UK, as well as in Europe. You'll have different projects to look after and will have different roles across them. Here's what a typical week could look like: On Monday, you're handed a new brief that you'll go into pre-production planning on, and can work from home to start the process. Tuesday might see you create vertical/portrait versions from a widescreen master in Adobe Premiere. Wednesday balances client calls with organising props for a last minute product photography shoot on Friday Thursday is that big shoot that's been on the horizon for the past 6 weeks, and you'll shoot on location with our DOP. Friday is that last minute shoot, that needs some quick thinking to get it shot and delivered in our small studio space in Battersea. The ideal person we're looking for will just have read that list and been excited by the variation this role offers. We're happy to offer a sensible balance of working from home, from our offices, as well as on location. We're mindful that flexibility has to work both ways. Next steps Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions beyond the information here. We're very happy to hear from candidates from all backgrounds and levels of experience.
