Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Role: Special Purpose Machinery Location: Cambridge Salary: £45k-£55k Platform Recruitment has partnered with a manufacturer that design and develop electro-mechanical machinery across the full development cycle – concept through to production. They’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who will be capable of delivering highly robust and thoroughly tested mechanical design solutions as well as leading mechanical development on new product development projects. The Role: Develop new products – concept to production Create innovative CAD designs Prototype, test&validate designs Mechanism&component design Produce bills of materials Work with production to solve technical issues Requirements: Experienced in designing special purpose machinery/capital equipment Hands-on experience managing end-to-end product development 3D CAD design – Solidworks Produce manufacturing drawings Practical experience with prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting Knowledge of fabrication, machining and assembly techniques The salary will be between £45,000-£55,000 depending on experience.
