We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Air Traffic Control to join our team and lead the day-to-day operations of our Air Traffic Control unit. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in overseeing a dynamic team, ensuring the safe and efficient management of air traffic while upholding the highest safety standards. About the Role - In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of Air Traffic Controllers, optimising operations, and driving improvements in Air Traffic Management. Responsibilities Manage Daily Operations: Oversee and direct the daily operations of the Air Traffic Control team to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective provision of air traffic services to all users. Leadership: Provide strong, clear leadership to the team, managing individual and team performance to promote a culture of high performance. Coordination and Communication: Work closely with air traffic control personnel, senior management, and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration. Establish and Monitor Procedures: Develop, implement, and continually assess procedures to uphold professional standards, regulatory compliance, and safety. Safety First: Your role will be to champion the highest standards of safety and compliance, ensuring that every decision made puts safety above all else. Operational Expertise: Maintain your qualifications as a fully licensed Air Traffic Control Officer (ATCO) with at least one Unit Endorsement. Fulfill the responsibilities expected of an ATCO, alongside managerial duties. Qualifications Proven Experience: Demonstrated success in managing Air Traffic Control Services with a deep understanding of operational requirements and the management of high-performing teams. Leadership and Communication Skills: Outstanding leadership capabilities, with a focus on communication and team motivation. Expert Knowledge: In-depth understanding of air traffic control procedures, regulations, and safety protocols. Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and risk management. Qualifications: Fully SMS qualified and holder of a UK ATCO Licence with at least one unit endorsement. Operational Experience: A minimum of 5 years of total operational experience, including at least 3 years working at a UK airport. Airport Operations Expertise: Extensive knowledge of the operational, commercial, and safety aspects of airport environments.
