Job Description
In this role, you will define and manage the roadmap for storage solutions from concept to production, addressing both current and future computing needs. This is an exciting opportunity to set the direction for storage solutions and lead the team in achieving its goals. You will collaborate with stakeholders—internal users and both external and internal technology providers—to understand product portfolios and roadmaps. You will also develop and implement strategies, including financial modeling, to drive the company’s storage initiatives. Responsibilities: Architect storage solutions that meet performance, scalability, and reliability requirements for HPC environments. Collaborate with internal cross-functional engineering teams to drive initiatives. Enhance user experiences by understanding storage workloads and designing effective solutions and tools. Forecast future storage needs, research new technologies, and experiment with innovative storage solutions. Leverage a deep understanding of hardware infrastructure and industry trends to inform roadmap planning and decisions. Review deliverables and provide guidance to team leads. Troubleshoot complex storage, OS, and networking issues. Integrate storage systems with HPC clusters, ensuring compatibility with existing hardware and software. Qualifications: Over 10 years of experience in HPC-like environments with multi-PB storage deployments. Expertise in HPC and scale-out enterprise storage solutions. In-depth knowledge of distributed file systems used for large-scale cluster computing (e.g., Lustre, CephFS, GPFS, WEKA). Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Deep technical understanding of commodity storage technologies and knowledge of storage industry trends. Solid expertise in server architecture, design, and development, with emphasis on power and performance analysis. Proven ability to solve problems under tight deadlines and manage time efficiently, balancing independent and collaborative workflows. Strong Python and UNIX/Linux shell scripting skills.
