My client is one of Europe’s leading suppliers to the food and beverage manufacturing, foodservice and retail sectors. Due to growth they are hiring a Junior Sales Manager to join their existing team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a keen interest in food and good commercial acumen to join a well-established, successful sales team. MAIN FUNCTIONS • To sell to existing customers the range of products. • To continually develop new customer contacts and new business. • Build relationships (from a sales perspective) with customer NPD/Technical departments&Purchasing teams which will result in generating new sales. • To develop relationships (from a supply perspective) with new and key Principals and gain detailed product knowledge of all key suppliers and their capabilities. • To liaise with other Divisions within the Group and where possible supply and sell. GENERAL ROLE • To physically visit UK based customers and utilise video conferencing where face to face visits are not possible. • To occasionally visit UK and non-UK based suppliers. • To facilitate the communication process between supplier and customer. • Keeping up to date with trends in food and drinks industry, market developments, legislation, import, health and other related trends. • To be fully aware of the technicalities and pitfalls of importing goods from outside of the UK, into the UK. • Assisting and arranging samples, taking to customers, NPD/buying depts. • To issue, make, and amend supply and purchase contracts. Where necessary, book Foreign Currency for transactions. • To deal with and resolve customer complaints. • To chase progress of samples sent to customers and to gain feedback for suppliers. • To attend Group Sales Meetings. • Understand the broader business of the group and developing into group sales opportunities. • Follow the company BRC procedures Salary DOE discretionary bonus 25 days AL ( bank holidays)
