Starting Salary: 56652 plus benefits To find out more about the job please click the ‘apply for job’ button to be taken to Imperial job site About the role The Data Science Institute (DSI) at Imperial College London is seeking an Institute Manager to provide maternity cover for up to 6 months, to manage the professional operations and research projects of the Institute. The Institute Manager will report directly to the Institute's Director to lead the operational team to run the day-to-day operation. What you would be doing Research Management Manage ongoing research projects at the Institute, supporting academic staff with resource planning, budget management, recruitment, procurement, and project delivery. Support academic staff, research staff and external partners in identifying and securing new opportunities for research collaborations. Coordinate and support research grant applications for the Institute. Operational Management Oversee day-to-day operations at the Institute, supporting the Director and working with internal teams to deliver key initiatives across research, education, innovation, and recruitment. Manage of the Institute's finances and resources, including both core and research accounts. Coordinate with academics and support staff to synchronize Institute activities. Report Institute activities and achievements to university management and sponsors as directed. Line-manage the Institute's operations team and organize Institute operations meetings. Communications and Engagement Act as the Institute's primary contact for internal and external communications. Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams (e.g., academics, researchers, research services, finance, HR) and external partners (e.g., collaborators, funders). What we are looking for A strong undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification, along with substantial experience in operations and research management, is essential for this role. Applicants must possess excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and professional services teams, as well as to collaborate successfully with academic colleagues. The role also requires the ability to manage multiple projects and resources to drive the successful delivery of the Institute's strategic objectives.
