Location: London, UK Sector: Insurance Reporting to: CEO Direct Reports: 1/2 About the Role: As the Head of Compliance, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and the leadership team, providing actionable insights and solutions to support our global operations. This is a hands-on, strategic role that combines high-level decision-making with the day-to-day execution of legal, compliance, and claims responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: Leadership&Strategic Initiatives: Lead and manage legal and regulatory matters across global operations, partnering with insurers, reinsurers, customers, and other stakeholders. Act as the primary legal advisor to the executive team, offering expert guidance and solutions. Manage relationships with external counsel, regulators, and industry bodies. Scope, plan, and execute strategic initiatives with a legal and regulatory lens. Governance: Negotiate, draft, and review key contracts, including TOBAs, binders, reinsurance treaties, endorsements, and employment agreements. Ensure all agreements align with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements. Maintain a global library of policies and wordings, ensuring accurate documentation of legal agreements and tracking key milestones. Compliance Management: Develop and implement a global compliance framework to ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and industry standards. Monitor evolving regulations, providing strategic compliance guidance to the leadership team. Represent the company in audits, inquiries, or investigations, and oversee internal audits and risk assessments. Drive compliance-related training programs and policy updates to mitigate risks and ensure company-wide adherence. What We’re Looking For: Experience: Proven track record in legal and compliance roles within the insurance industry, with exposure to reinsurer, MGA or Lloyds ideally Expertise: Strong knowledge of contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, and claims management. Adaptability: Capable of switching between strategic planning and hands-on problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications: Legal qualification (LLB or equivalent) required; additional compliance certifications are a plus. Communication: Excellent ability to communicate complex legal concepts in a clear, actionable manner to diverse stakeholders.
