Financial Controller | Seed Stage Tech Start-up | London/hybrid The Client: Harmonic is excited to be working with a tech start-up who are looking to disrupt the industry through a combination of technology-driven solutions, customer-centric innovations, and flexible service offering. Having raised a Seed round, they have seen strong growth to date, despite only being 2 years old they already have an international presence with locations ranging from London to Asia, making them well positioned to be a trusted partner to support the success of business across a diverse range of sectors. The Role: This is an execution role for a high-growth business, ideal for a seasoned financial professional with expertise in financial control within scaling environment. As the Financial Controller you will work directly with the CEO and will ultimately be responsible for the end to end finance function including financial control and support with FP&A. As the first finance hie you will be responsible for building the finance function from scratch. This hands-on position involves managing accurate invoicing, cash management improvements and ensuring efficient cashflow, while leveraging support from the data science and analytics team. Responsibilities: Establish and maintain robust financial processes, systems and controls to support the business scaling. Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including cash flow management, invoicing and accounts. Build detailed financial reports for the founders, board, and external stakeholders. Deliver actionable insights on key metrics, including revenue, profitability, and margins. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax, and reporting standards (e.g. IFRS, UK GAAP) Design and implement the company’s financial strategy, aligning it with business goals and growth initiatives. Develop forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning models. Provide financial insights to support pricing strategies, cost optimisation, and operational decision-making. Lay the groundwork for a scalable finance function and hire junior finance team members as the business growth. What we need to see (essential): ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified 5 years experience in a high-growth environment (startup/scaleup preferred) Proven ability to build and scale finance functions in a fast-paced businesses. Hands-on experience with financial reporting, FP&A, and implementing financial systems Previous experience with a tech led environment Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sat and make strategic recommendations. What we would like to see (Bonus): Familiarity with tech start-ups or rapidly environments. Exposure to venture capital-funded businesses and fundraising processes. Proven experience working with founders investors, or senior leadership. Salary: £80,000 - £90,000 Location: Central London (Hybrid, 3 days in office) Want to apply?
