Executive Assistant to Group Managing Director Counting King | Grants, Tax Incentives&Business Finance Full-time, office-based in Salford Quays, Greater Manchester. Working Monday to Friday 9AM to 5PM. Basic salary £32,000 - £35,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience. What do we do? The Role We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Executive Assistant to provide dedicated support to our Group Managing Director in overseeing daily operations and strategic growth initiatives. This role requires an individual with exceptional organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills, who can anticipate needs and manage a broad range of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. The Executive Assistant will play a crucial role in managing the Group MD’s diary, liaising with key stakeholders and ensuring smooth execution of strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of handling sensitive information with discretion. This is a dynamic position suited for someone who thrives under pressure, has a solutions-driven mindset, and can confidently support high-level decision-making. Prior experience in executive support is preferred, but the ability to take initiative, think strategically, and act as a trusted partner to senior leadership is essential for success. Key Responsibilities Manage the Group MD’s calendar, including scheduling meetings, coordinating travel arrangements and ensuring optimal time management. Work closely with the Group MD to monitor key responsibilities, track commitments, and ensure all deadlines are met. Serve as the primary point of contact between the Group MD and internal/external stakeholders, maintaining effective communication and working relationships. Screen, prioritise, and manage incoming correspondence on behalf of the Group MD, ensuring timely responses and tracking outgoing communication. Support the Group MD in monitoring key business performance metrics, preparing reports, and ensuring data-driven decision-making. Assist in the planning and execution of strategic initiatives and special projects. Assist in identifying opportunities to improve business processes. Handle sensitive information with discretion, maintaining confidential records. Skills and Experience Required Essential: Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and last-minute changes with ease. A confident and articulate communicator, both written and verbal. Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build and maintain strong professional relationships while being assertive when necessary. Skilled in diplomacy, tact, and navigating complex relationships at all levels. A natural people-reader who can quickly understand the Group MD’s working style and anticipate needs before being asked. A proactive problem solver with a strategic mindset, taking initiative to identify challenges and implement effective solutions. Technologically savvy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and modern productivity tools. A high degree of professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive matters. Strong business acumen, with the ability to align support with the broader business strategy and contribute to decision-making. Ability to push back when necessary, challenge thinking, and act as a true strategic partner. Desirable: Experience working in financial services or a corporate environment supporting senior executives. Understanding of financial regulations or technical finance-related subjects. Project management experience, particularly in strategic initiatives, process improvement, or operational efficiency. Experience managing high-profile stakeholders, such as investors and international partners. Familiarity with mergers, acquisitions, or business expansion processes, including due diligence and integration planning. Experience coordinating international business operations, including logistics, compliance, and cultural considerations. Proficiency in using data and performance metrics to support executive decision-making. Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to understand business goals and industry trends to enhance executive support.
