Taylor Root is pleased to be working with a rapidly growing financial services company to recruit a Data Protection Manager (UK, EMEA and APAC) Our client is a diversified financial services business with interest in retail banking, wealth management and insurance. The company has been growing rapidly and now have operations in the UK, US, Middle East and Asia. The Group Data Protection manager will support the data strategy for the business globally and will also support colleagues in several territories. You also lead on all areas of regulatory change within data protection, playing a key role in helping the organization navigate the impact of these regulatory changes. This is a truly exciting role that will allow the successful candidate to shape the data protection framework for a complex global business. The role Reporting into the International Head of Data Protection, Data Protection Manager will be responsible for: Acting as the primary point of contact for data protection queries across the UK, EMEA and APAC. Identifying and assessing privacy risks within the UK and at group level, and develop and action strategy to address risks. Develop privacy-related risk assessments, metrics and reporting mechanisms to assess the health of the privacy program. Support regulatory change for Europe and Asia-Pacific as a jurisdictional Privacy Office Regulatory Change Lead. Support industry advocacy activities in relation to upcoming regulatory changes. About you You must have least 7 -10 years of work experience in a Privacy or Data Protection related role. This experience would ideally have been gained in a global business. You will also have: • In-depth understanding of European, UK, and APAC data privacy and data protection regulation, and an awareness of other major privacy frameworks and evolving legislation worldwide. • Well-developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with people at all organisational levels. • Detail-oriented approach needed to recommend and implement strategic improvements on a range of data privacy and data protection issues. • Hold at least one data protection and/or privacy certification, such as CIPP, CIPT, CIPM, ISEB.
