This leading global trading and investment company that operates across a diverse range of industries, including energy, chemicals, food, transportation, major international infrastructure and technology are looking a talented Corporate lawyer to join their London based legal team. This exciting and diverse role will include day to day trading activities, M&A, supporting investment strategies, compliance, legal intelligence, commercial contracts, corporate governance and stakeholder related activities. As a vital member of this collaborative team you must be open minded and curious, good at prioritising, with an appetite to learn new skills and be capable of working across a variety of sectors and geographies. The role will include: Supporting management and corporate teams in their day-to-day business, enabling them to achieve their business strategies and goals, while ensuring that risks are minimised Providing timely legal advice to the business to strengthen current business as well as find and develop new business strategies Supporting post investment activities Drafting, reviewing, revising and negotiating contracts and other legal documentation; Supporting the legal intelligence function including monitoring new laws, identifying and communicating significant legal and regulatory developments that impact the business, Supporting the company secretary on corporate governance and related activities Working on compliance matters, Working on onboarding initiatives, as well as projects relating to knowhow and knowledge management, contract efficiency and regulatory compliance. Experience: UK Qualified lawyer with min 3-4 year PQE in corporate M&A or similar, including experience in private practice at a highly regarded international law firm Exposure to working with a broad range of legal practice areas and issues. Excellent interpersonal and communication/presentation skills Strong technical legal skills and knowledge; Highly motivated and capable of managing competing demands and timelines; Able to work independently but also a good team player with a collaborative approach. Knowledge of regulatory and compliance issues, including antitrust, bribery, data and AML Knowledge of common current market practice within (non-regulatory) corporate trading environments. Experience working in a multinational or trading environment would be desirable Experience with Japanese companies not essential but welcome; Commercial mindset and interest in global trade and current affairs On offer is a team focused environment that is dynamic and innovative, hybrid working in their central London offices and an excellent salary and benefits package.
