Contracts Manager Salary: £40-£55,000 Location: Manchester Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role On behalf of our client, a well-established construction and fit-out company, we are seeking a skilled Contracts Manager to join their team in Manchester . This is a pivotal role, overseeing projects from tender through to completion, ensuring seamless delivery, cost efficiency, and exceptional client satisfaction. As the Contracts Manager, you will lead multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with health and safety standards, and maintain a strong focus on quality and commercial performance. Key Responsibilities Tender Stage Develop site logistics plans, programmes, and methodologies. Offer expert advice on project delivery, buildability, and design. Represent the company at tender interviews as required. Collaborate with the client and internal teams to establish and manage realistic project timescales. Pre-Construction and Mobilisation Appoint and coordinate site-based project or site managers post-contract award. Lead internal handover meetings to align project teams. Ensure health and safety compliance, working closely with the H&S manager. Develop construction programmes and oversee pre-construction activities. Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors (when applicable) to finalise procurement plans and supplier schedules. Construction Phase Monitor and enforce health and safety across project sites. Manage project delivery to programme and budget, liaising closely with clients to meet expectations. Review project progress, providing updates and resolving issues proactively. Support and guide site managers to overcome challenges effectively. Project Completion Drive projects to timely and successful completion. Attend handover meetings and provide aftercare support. Review supply chain performance through KPI evaluations. Commercial Management Manage project budgets to optimise costs and improve profitability. Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors on procurement, cost variations, and commercial reporting. Undertake QS duties if necessary, with support available from the senior team. Reporting Provide regular progress updates to senior management. Maintain accurate records on the project tracker. Ensure a clear understanding of project profitability, addressing concerns as needed. About You Essential Skills and Experience: SMSTS and/or CSCS certified. Proficient in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office. Strong background in contracts management, ideally within construction or fit-out sectors. Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills. Full UK driving licence.
