Role: Civil Quality Inspector. Location: Port of Nigg -, Scotland. Reporting to: Quality Manager. Type of contract: Contract - Full-time. Sector: Construction. About the project: Development of a subsea power cable manufacturing factory for Japanese multinational company Sumitomo Electric, in the Port of Nigg of Scottish Highlands. The project will support the delivery of critical infrastructure to support the offshore wind and renewable energy sectors to achieve their substantial energy generation ambition in the years ahead. We are looking for: Civil Quality Inspector , you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, compliance, and quality of the project. Your responsibilities will include inspecting, monitoring, and verifying the construction processes to ensure they meet industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES: Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections of the projects to ensure compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and applicable regulations. Review and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure accuracy and adherence to project requirements. Material and Workmanship Inspection: Inspect materials, equipment, and workmanship at various stages of construction to verify compliance with quality standards. Identify and report any deviations or non-conformities and work collaboratively with the project team to address and rectify issues promptly. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed and accurate inspection records, including photographs, reports, and documentation of non-conformities and corrective actions. Prepare comprehensive inspection reports for management and stakeholders, highlighting the quality status of the project activities. Prepare documentation for handover packages to the client. Create and maintain the punch list documentation. Coordination and Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and resolution of quality-related issues. Participate in project meetings and provide input on quality-related matters. HSE Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. And UK statutory duties. Identify and manage potential safety hazards and report them to the HSE function. Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement in construction methods, quality control procedures, and inspection processes. Stay updated on industry best practices, standards, and technological advancements related to civil construction in subsea cable projects. This job description is an outline of general duties but is not limited to the above list. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, desired. CSCS and other relevant certifications in quality inspection or construction quality management. 5 years of relevant industry experience and QA Inspections. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to subsea cable construction, and HSE. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to make sound judgments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
