My client is at the forefront of innovation in the biotech sector, dedicated to advancing ground-breaking therapies for solid tumors and hematological malignancies. Our mission is to improve patient outcomes through pioneering science and collaboration. They're seeking a visionary Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) to join the leadership team and drive the scientific strategies forward. Key Responsibilities Lead the discovery and development of cutting-edge therapies from concept to preclinical development. Direct and manage research teams and preclinical translational science programs to ensure project milestones are achieved. Transition oncology-focused cell therapies from preclinical to clinical stages. Develop and execute robust translational research plans to support clinical trials, leveraging biomarkers, tumor models, and biobank resources. Partner with regulatory, clinical, and commercial teams to align scientific goals with company strategy. Provide scientific context and rationale to support business development, investor relations, and external partnerships. Cultivate relationships with external collaborators, including academia, patient groups, clinicians, and regulatory bodies. Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence across the organization. Qualifications Ph.D. degree in immunology / cell biology or a related field with a postdoctoral fellowship More than 10 years of drug discovery and development experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry from idea inception to preclinical development for solid tumors and hematological malignancies Experience managing research and pre-clinical translational science teams Has transitioned cell therapies in oncology from preclinical stage to clinical trials Superior technical know-how and broad scientific knowledge in the fields of immunology, oncology and I/O. Demonstrated record of scientific achievement through peer-reviewed publications In-depth knowledge of tumor biology mechanisms, ex vivo and in vivo tumor models, tumor biobanks, biomarkers, and pre-clinical studies design Has developed translational research plans to support clinical trials Significant experience in process&analytical assay development settings Good understanding of the biotech/pharma industry&investors Can help to provide scientific context and rationale for business development opportunities Collaborative and flexible in interactions at all levels within the company, with external collaborators and stakeholders (academia, patient groups, regulatory bodies, hospitals, clinicians, etc.)
