Blackfield Associates are supporting a leading organisation in clinical and commercial gene therapy manufacturing, to recruit for a Bioprocessing Team Leader to join the team within their upstream manufacturing facility. Responsibilities: As the Bioprocessing Team Leader, you’ll manage and inspire a team of Bioprocessing Scientists to deliver safe, compliant, and reliable manufacturing operations. You’ll ensure adherence to GMP standards, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and help to achieve key milestones in product development and delivery. Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of up to 12 Bioprocessing Scientists. Coordinate training, motivation, and performance management to build a high-performing team. Champion employee engagement and retention. Compliance&Quality: Ensure all operations adhere to GMP, Data Integrity, and Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Lead first-response activities for quality issues and maintain an inspection-ready facility. Operational Excellence: Drive on-time delivery of GMP products as per the manufacturing schedule. Oversee safety and risk management within the team. Promote continuous improvement in workflows and team practices. Collaboration: Work cross-functionally to meet manufacturing and performance targets. Lead structured problem-solving efforts to overcome operational challenges. Requirements: Educational Background: University degree in Science or Engineering. Experience: Strong expertise in manufacturing operations, quality systems, and process development. Proven track record in regulatory inspections and audit readiness activities. Experience in leading technical and operational teams in dynamic environments
